What is the statistical test?

A statistical test checks if you may reject a null assumption over the population base on sample data. Examples of statistical tests: Check if a measurement contained the expected value. Compare two or more measurements to conclude if the measurement equality. Decide if two variables have a significant relationship.

How do you run a statistical test?

Calculates s statistic that describes the assumption you try to test Estimate the distribution of the statistic, under the assumption that the null assumption is correct. Check the probability of the statistic Calculate the probability to get the statistic value when the null assumption is correct If the probability is small, usually smaller than 0.05, you may assume that it is safe to reject the null assumption.
